Exotic and Bulk Hardware

The glistening sea of bolts...

For years now we’ve been trying to keep track of everything that we have brought in, digging into our secret warehouses and trying to find the oddest and most useful things to bring into our store. Among the things that aren’t so useful, well, we usually take them apart. Everything from fabrication equipment with no oomph in its robotic arm, to lasers with no lase, just the “er.”   They were made well, that for sure, and so even there pieces and parts deserve a second chance as ingredients to your new inventions. Recently we found a huge load of ammo boxes and crates full of strange hardware from such machines and figured we’d make it all available for you to grab at a decent rate for what it is.  From bolts to big bolts, hose clamps, brass fittings, bearings, chunks of “what the?” and more, we have it all in our new bulk hardware department.

Reuseum Ed. Junk Workshop 3/3/2012

We’re getting right down to business with our new educational space and we hope to bring you many great opportunities to learn in the very near future.

For our first official Reuseum Educational workshop, we’ll be combining the art of reuse with creative sculpture and some beginner basics for identifying electronics parts. We have numerous bins of components and other bits from many era’s past that are apt to be made into any form of upcycled sculpture you can make real. We’ve already had great success rendering pagers into robots (see pic) and thought we’d try to give everyone an opportunity to try their hand as some freeform.

Here are some great links of other recycled robots that might be fun to look at:

“To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.” ~ Thomas Alva Edison.

Participants are welcome ALL DAY from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, March 3rd 2012 to make their found art ideas a reality.  There is a $10 admission per person to cover materials and tools.

You might have noticed that we get in quite a lot of cool stuff. We would agree it is easy to see, unless more cool stuff comes in and needs to get put somewhere too, thus obscuring the other equally interesting older stuff. The more we let this happen, cool things get left on the shelves, sometimes barely noticed, their hope waning for an individual to come by and welcome them into their workshop.  We’ve decided to do a bit of Spring cleaning (despite what that rodent said) and mark most of our items far below their originally advertised killer deal.  All of our odd gadgetry has been discounted, as well as our entire room of industrial furniture and inventory of metal stock.  Please come help us clear out our aisles and make room for some even cooler new stuff. If it helps, we’ll even help you clear out some of your valued space at home too.
