From this Friday, July 1st until Saturday the 9th, everything with a special dot on it is for sale by for the price of scrap recycling: about $1 per pound. Basically its the last chance for some of these great things before We’ve been sitting on some more pretty interesting stuff in our super secret warehouse location (the Obtainium) and it has all been begging to see the light of day. We have lots of items in the store that have been here for a while and frankly, we are tired of looking at them.
You see, the geeks that work here need the “wow factor” too, and it will feel better if we just give you the chance of a lifetime to snag these remaining relics at a steal of a deal, and then see if we can’t give the store some new sections. Items like industrial panels, power boxes, small test equipment, metal scrap and hardware, to some worthy and cherished items like old oscilloscopes and diagnostic equipment will be going up on the chopping block for this sale.
Good all around right? Almost. We would also like to give our esteemed public the same chance and will be hosting another Gadgeteer’s Swap Meet all day on Saturday the 9th! Feel free to bring down your excess goods as well and we will open up our new courtyard for you to display your own little Reuseum-like sections of wares. If you like, you can even recycle them as well at the end of the day. Let us know if you would like to come down and bring a table to set up, everyone is welcome to do so! You can contact David via Info@Reuseum.com or the contact form on the site here, please add the subject line, “Swap Meet Seller.”
Hope to see you there!

The Idaho PC Users Group has been kind enough to ask us to talk about recycling and repurposing obsoleted technology and making new things out of the materials we find. This is a very exciting prospect, as lately here at the store we have been getting better and better at using the parts and equipment available to make everything from DIY lab equipment for homebrewers to 3D printers and other desktop manufacturing equipment. Much of this is due to the amazing and constantly inspirational community that supports us, and their varied ideas about using our various goods in a multitude of creative ways. As you might guess, the power of a community to accomplish things will definitely be a highlight and emphasis in the presentation. The meeting is open to the public, and you can expect to see a demonstration of some of the manufacturing processes and tools we use in our cottage industry here at the store.
The Idaho PC Users Group meets at the Lee Pesky Learning Center, 3324 Elder St. Boise, ID. Here’s a map for sake of convenience. The meeting starts at about 6:30 and covers a broad range of topics from open source software to new applications and technological developments. It is open to the public, so we hope to see you there!

Want to paint a mural on your wall? What about having a friend scroll through transparencies that you bootlegged from Kinko’s as you present some flash fiction your wrote for your ‘zine? We’ve even accidentally mesmerized ourselves by spraying window cleaner on it and then squishing plastic wrap over the top.
OK, we’ll admit that there are also plenty of practical uses that the light source, optics, mirrors and Fresnel lens could be applied to. All of which we are sure someone might want to experiment with. What those are, well, you tell us. As you can see from the picture, we do have a few…

We’ve had these large welders since we expanded into our new room. They’ve cast many intimidating shadows on would be owners, and we felt it was time you got to know them. In the right hands, the power of your industrial prowess would be titanic, and though the titans of myth have been unseated, and the ship sunk, with these fine pieces you might fare better in your productive exploits than either of them. You can check out lots of other great industrial items on our online store, just click the “DIY Surplus Online” tab to the left…
