We are always looking for cool stuff!

Plenty of people ask us where we get such a cool collection of inventory.  We work hard every day to develop relationships with businesses and institutions everywhere to help bring a continued variety of interesting things into our humble doors here at the Reuseum. But that doesn’t necessarily speak to some of the people that can help us most, which is you!  Since we have moved to our new location at 108 W. 33rd. in Garden City, ID, we have been able to set aside some space for electronic scrap in case you have a need to recycle your old tech.  Also, in case you have something that might be of value to a tinkerer, we love to give out coupons and such to express our gratitude.  A popular question concerns what we do or do not like to take in to the store.  That is simple.  We cannot take your old CRT monitor or TV, they must be processed at the landfill.  That makes some good news though, as we will gladly take anything that might have a perceived use or you would like to see conscientiously recycled.  The best thing is, its free to you and we would appreciate your support in any way possible.

Thank you,

Dave

What is World Wide Pinhole Day?
This is an international event created to promote and celebrate the art of pinhole photography. On this unique day, they encourage people throughout the world to participate in the simple act of making a pinhole photograph. This is an opportunity to share their visions and help spread the unusual beauty of this historical photographic process.

Why Pinhole Photography?
It is a unique personal experience! Pinhole photography allows you to make a photograph that requires only a light-tight container with a tiny hole in one side (as a camera) and any photo-sensitive surface in it. You can adapt an existing camera, or make the camera yourself. The experience of image-making becomes a little more special when created with your own hand-made camera.

Who is leading the workshop?
John Moore, from Flying Monkey Studio, has been making pinhole cameras & pinhole images since 2000. Examples of his work can be viewed at www.flyingmonkeystudio.com.

Want to help us out?

With the latest overhaul and relocation of the store, we’ve been trying to implement new things on a weekly basis here at the Reuseum.  Some of those include creating an online store and bringing in new inventory every Friday.  Others are fun additions and things we do that we feel are just as important to reflect the personality of the store.  So this is where you might come in.  The Reuseum has always fostered a community and user group and we are looking for help getting a set of cameras set up in the store so that we can put it up on our website and run promotions and film workshops.  So far there have been several tries that all sort of work, and some just flat out do not. We have tried IP cams, USB cams and active Cat5e extenders for USB and frankly we are *just a titch* fed up with the trade offs offunctionality.  So if you have the guts to tackle this obstacle with us, we here at the Reuseum would be very grateful and would be most happy to buy you beer or give you a sweet pile of our fabulous junque.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear back from you soon.
